Shakti scheme

All women of Karnataka State are entitled to free travel in the vehicles of Karnataka State Road Transport Karnataka Road Transport Urban Transport Corporation/North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation/Kalyan Sabha “Shakti Yojana”

The main features of this scheme are as follows:

1. Free Karnataka Travel The facility is applicable only to women (including students) of the state (Domicile of Karnataka). These women passengers include girls aged 6 to 12 years and gender minorities.

2. Women (including students) are allowed to travel free of cost only in Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation’s urban transport/normal and express (including non-stop statewide) transports.

3. The facility is not applicable in luxury buses like Rajahamsa, Non A.C. Streepar, A.C. Streepar, Airavata, Airavata Club Class, Ambari, Ambari Deem Class, Ambari Utsav, Fi Bus, EV Plus transports.

4. There is no travel distance limit for women passengers. This travel facility is applicable only for travel within the state.

5. Except for some selected inter-state travel, women are not allowed free of charge in other inter-state transports.

6. The Shakti Yojana is not applicable to services like daily pass, monthly pass, occasional contract and permanent contract (chartered service), package etc.

Eligibility criteria:

• The applicant must be a woman.
• The beneficiary must be a resident of Karnataka.
• Girls aged 6 years and above are also eligible for free travel benefits.
• The beneficiary must carry a valid photo identity proof while travelling.

Application Process:

Valid ID cards to avail the scheme during travel.

Beneficiary:

Female passengers are girls aged 6 to 12 and gender minorities.
